Welcome
Welcome to Woodside Academy -
London South East Academies Trust
Our popular special academy offers provision for autistic 4-19-year-olds with a wide range of learning needs including complex needs. All of our learners have an Education Health and Care Plan, (EHCP), and a diagnosis of autism. We are all ambitious for each individual all of the time and value trust, honesty, respect and kindness. Our calm, welcoming and purposeful environment ensures that children and young people are happy and confident and can therefore make the most of every opportunity to learn. At woodside children of all ages succeed and achieve and develop greater independence and autonomy as they journey through the school. We are building a community of learners, fully inclusive of the most disadvantaged, who are resilient, independent, creative and kind. We welcome and celebrate diversity and are inclusive to all.
The story of our school is best told by the children, some of whom join the school at very early developmental levels. Along their educational journey and due to the good work of the school, children and young people steadily build skills, knowledge, a love of reading, independence, confidence, resilience and qualifications. Our curriculum enables the children and young people to develop academic and lifelong learning skills which empower and engage them to drive forwards into future study, training and employment. It is designed to be ambitious, personalised and to promote a love of learning and reading.
Older pupils leave the school equipped with a range of Entry Level-Level 1 or 2 qualifications in English, Maths, Science, and a BTEC/Entry Level Certificate in a vocational subject such as construction, art and design, personal progress, independent living skills. The majority of pupils move on to college to continue their education.
We are a collaborative community and work in close partnership with parents and carers and a range of other schools locally and beyond. This enables us to make meaningful links, enriching the provision on offer to our children and gives us the opportunity to share best practice, strengthen educational links and reach for excellence for each individual.

Wellbeing Week at Woodside: 29th June to 3rd July
So much has already been done to support the wellbeing of the students and the Wellbeing theme of this week will support them all even further with developing and sustaining good mental health.
Packs have been produced which contain lots of different websites for yoga, meditation and many of the other websites have lots of different wellbeing activities.
Our aim is to empower our students with different resources and strategies to help them stay in their calm zone, so in addition to our happiness boxes we hope that the resources they access throughout this week will also be of great benefit for them.
